Mr. McMahon made an announcement on Tuesday night during ECW that John Cena was going to have to undergo immediate surgery on his pectoral tendon and that he would be out of action between six months and a year. This came as a blow to the Raw roster as there are only a matter of days until the pay per view event No Mercy.
John Cena was supposed to be matched up against Randy Orton that evening for the WWE Championship. Unfortunately due to the severity of his injuring the WWE medical team and staff are not allowing Cena to compete in this event no matter how much Cena feels that he can do it.
The match at No Mercy has been changed to an Open Title Match, which will determine the new WWE Champion. I'm not sure who will compete in that match but I hope that a fitting champion is crowned.
Apparently it was difficult to diagnose the injury at first because John Cena is so muscular that the tendon tear wasn't discovered right away but was finally found. Doctors are sure that Cena will do what it takes to come back stronger and faster than they expect because this business is his life and it's in his blood. My prayers are with John Cena and the Cena family right now that he has a speedy recovery and I look forward to him making his fantastic comeback. Best wishes John!
