Gearing up for No Mercy!

On a lighter note from my earlier blog, it appears that things are gearing up for No Mercy which is October 7th on pay per view. There have been three huge matches made thus far. I am excited to see that these three matches are going to be as good ol' JR would say "slobberknockers!"

The first match made for No Mercy was John Cena vs. Randy Orton. There's no real surprise there that this match was going to be made. With the heat that has been going on between these two superstars in weeks past, it's all going to come to a proverbial head at this next event. John Cena feels the need to avenge the attacks on his father by Randy Orton as well as retaining his championship gold. He has just as much motive as Randy does to give his all to this match and either leave the champ or be defeated by the self proclaimed Legend Killer.

Randy Orton has a desire to get the gold around his waist. He is a damned good wrestler but hasn't had much luck in the past to make his mark on the business. Then he went from being the young fresh face of team Evolution, to the pit bull like hunter that we've seen recently. He's definitely left his mark on the business by becoming the Legend Killer and targeting some of the best superstars and hall of fame inductees in the industry. He wanted attention, well he's got it now and it's name is John Cena.

These two will have it out and I'm sure it's going to be a very memorable match. Who will leave the champ that night? I honestly can't say that I have a strong feeling one way or the other at this point. They both have the potential and the desire to beat their opponent. The weeks leading up to No Mercy will surely be intense that's for sure!

The next match that has been made is a punjabi prison match between the animal Batista and the Great Khali. I've met Batista before and let me tell you he's very tall and muscular. Television is very misleading on the size of these guys because you have no point of reference when you are sitting on your couch at home. Sure they announce the guy's stats before each match, but trust me, in real life they are always so much more impressive.

Batista has proven in past matches that he has what it takes to be a champ. He's always on top of his game and he fights with a passion and power that is almost unrivaled in this business. Then there is his opponent Khali. What can I say about this punjabi giant? He's huge and massive in size and has shown sheer dominance in the ring in past matches against some of the toughest guys in the business. This match is going to prove the ability of Batista to not depend on his size to win but to use his skills and knowledge about his opponent to get the upper hand. I have no predictions on this match either because it could go either way, but I'm hoping that the animal can defeat the giant and have his day in the sun!

The third match that has been made for No Mercy is Triple H vs Umaga. Mr. McMahon made this match out of spite because of Triple H's commentary and sarcasm towards Mr. McMahon lately about his illegitimate son Hornswaggle. Triple H has kept me in stitches lately with his commentary towards Mr. McMahon, but apparently Mr. McMahon doesn't find it funny.

Triple H and Umaga have locked eyes before and had some damned good encounters together. Last month when Triple H and Umaga met in the ring it was a bloody battered Umaga that lost that fight to the sledgehammer wielding King of Kings. Umaga definitely has motivation to bring the fire to the Game at No Mercy and Triple H has his reputation to uphold. The King of Kings has had months off due to a leg injury and he's gunning to get back into the full tilt of the game. Nothing can keep him down and he's overcome obstacle after obstacle to be where he is today. He doesn't need to prove that he's the best, he just has to remind us who we're dealing with.

This match is going to be an intense combination of physical force and sheer dominance. Both men are strong and in prime physical condition (Trust me that's not fat on Umaga it's muscle despite what it may look like). It'll be like two bulls running at each other at full tilt to prove which one is more dominant in the yard. Triple H is also known as the "cerebral assassin" because of his ability to get in the heads of his opponents and knowing what they are going to do before they know. He may need to rely on this skill in this match because muscles alone are not going to take down the Samoan Bulldozer. Umaga is coming to this match angry and humiliated due to the attack by Triple H last month. He will not stop until Triple H pays for his transgressions, no matter what it takes. This match by far has my full attention because it's Triple H in the ring. I think the King of Kings is going to prevail, but that Umaga will get in a few good hits of his own to make sure that Triple H realizes he's not the only force in the business to be reckoned with.

As more matches are announced I will update my blog to include my thoughts on them as well. For now it's going to be a very interesting couple of weeks to see what transpires between now and No Mercy!
