Thank you "Mr. McMahon"

Monday night was anything but boring for our WWE superstars. At the beginning of Monday night Raw I thought that Mr. McMahon was actually going to show his human side by apologizing to his little son Hornswaggle and setting him up with a date with Melina. Then come to find out the date with Melina was a hoax and was set up only because Melina wanted a shot at the Women's Title. How rude. Then Mr. McMahon began being his usual self and doling out matches that he felt were fair in the name of payback. Could the night get any better?

Mr. McMahon made a triple threat match for Triple H which would involve a steel cage, Carlito and Mr. McMahon himself. I always love it when the Chairman of the board gets into the ring because if nothing else it's going to be entertaining to see what manner of cheating Vince will use to win his match.

This match was intense from the get go. Carlito seemed to be dominating Triple H while Triple H's attention seemed to be focused on getting Mr. McMahon out of the picture. Carlito gave Triple H a low blow (for those of you who don't know, that's a shot to the genitalia) and also slammed his face into the side of the unforgiving steel cage, which I know cannot be pleasant. Triple H was not dominated entirely, he came back and showed Vince and Carlito that he was a force to be reckoned with and that he was not easily intimidated. The match ended with Mr. McMahon climbing out of the steel cage and hanging from the top of it while Carlito and Triple H exchanged blows on the top rope of the squared circle. Once Carlito was off the leg of Triple H, Triple H tried to grab for the Chairman but missed. Vince once again managed to secure another win in his favor over the Cerebral Assassin.

The match was not over there though. Triple H went after Carlito who was still inside the steel cage and absolutely dominated him. Carlito was a bloody, battered mess by the time Triple H was done giving him a taste of his own medicine (low blows and slams into the steel cage included.) Then he went hunting for Mr. McMahon himself. He found his prey trying to escape the arena and he confronted him with a very up close and personal call out. The challenge to a match next week on Raw was made, with Mr. McMahon accepting with gusto. "You're on and you're screwed", were the words that Triple H had for Vince as a parting gift.

How about our champ John Cena? I honestly thought that Coach was going to find a way to screw Cena out of his title. The "Title Surrender Ceremony" commenced and I was leery of what was to come. Cena was not going to beg for his title, are you serious? The Champ beg to keep his gold. Never! Just as Cena was about to kick the snot out of the endearing Jonathan Coachman (I'm sure) an announcement was made. Mr. McMahon had made a tables match that was to start immediately between Coach and Cena. Count outs and submissions didn't count and the winner had to successfully toss his opponent through the conveniently placed ceremony table. (How did I not see that coming?). Well the match began with Coach absolutely in shock because Vince McMahon never called him the acting GM of Raw to let him know that this was the new plan. Well do I even need to explain who won that match? Our champ is STILL here! At the end Hornswaggle walked out and gave the thumbs us to Cena who then thanked "Mr. McMahon" for allowing him that opportunity to keep his title. Looks like the littlest McMahon may be fit for the family name plenty!

Randy Orton who was on an "indefinite" suspension Monday night had some choice things to say to John Cena as well. Orton was via satellite and more cold hearted than I have seen him in a long time. His eyes were ice as he spoke through the camera to John Cena about their match at No Mercy and how next Monday night there is going to be hell to pay. All I have to say about this is that John Cena had better have his game in order at No Mercy because his opponent is dead set on annihilating him and taking the gold. When you want something bad enough you don't have to try, you just have to wait for an opportune moment and strike when the opponent is weak, something that Randy Orton has become very good at.

Monday night also marked the return of Hardcore Holly! I was surprised to see he'd made a comeback and was ready for action. This superstar was a household name for a long time and always put the hardcore element in the squared circle when he was in it. I haven't seen him on Raw in so long that I was happy to see him. He faced the newest addition to the Raw roster Cody Rhodes (yes the son of the American Great Dusty Rhodes). Holly entered the match declaring that Rhodes had to, "earn his respect". Well the match was won of course by Hardcore Holly who has had many years of wrestling under his belt. He left the ring not impressed with the wrestling style of the young Cody Rhodes.

It was a night that revealed many things to come. Will Cena remain champ? Will Triple H settle his score with Mr. McMahon? Will Melina ever get the "funk" off from her date with Hornswaggle? These questions and more will be answered in my next edition of Fantastic Entertainment. Tune in next time for more wrestling fun!

Gearing up for No Mercy!

Related Article

On a lighter note from my earlier blog, it appears that things are gearing up for No Mercy which is October 7th on pay per view. There have been three huge matches made thus far. I am excited to see that these three matches are going to be as good ol' JR would say "slobberknockers!"

The first match made for No Mercy was John Cena vs. Randy Orton. There's no real surprise there that this match was going to be made. With the heat that has been going on between these two superstars in weeks past, it's all going to come to a proverbial head at this next event. John Cena feels the need to avenge the attacks on his father by Randy Orton as well as retaining his championship gold. He has just as much motive as Randy does to give his all to this match and either leave the champ or be defeated by the self proclaimed Legend Killer.

Randy Orton has a desire to get the gold around his waist. He is a damned good wrestler but hasn't had much luck in the past to make his mark on the business. Then he went from being the young fresh face of team Evolution, to the pit bull like hunter that we've seen recently. He's definitely left his mark on the business by becoming the Legend Killer and targeting some of the best superstars and hall of fame inductees in the industry. He wanted attention, well he's got it now and it's name is John Cena.

These two will have it out and I'm sure it's going to be a very memorable match. Who will leave the champ that night? I honestly can't say that I have a strong feeling one way or the other at this point. They both have the potential and the desire to beat their opponent. The weeks leading up to No Mercy will surely be intense that's for sure!

The next match that has been made is a punjabi prison match between the animal Batista and the Great Khali. I've met Batista before and let me tell you he's very tall and muscular. Television is very misleading on the size of these guys because you have no point of reference when you are sitting on your couch at home. Sure they announce the guy's stats before each match, but trust me, in real life they are always so much more impressive.

Batista has proven in past matches that he has what it takes to be a champ. He's always on top of his game and he fights with a passion and power that is almost unrivaled in this business. Then there is his opponent Khali. What can I say about this punjabi giant? He's huge and massive in size and has shown sheer dominance in the ring in past matches against some of the toughest guys in the business. This match is going to prove the ability of Batista to not depend on his size to win but to use his skills and knowledge about his opponent to get the upper hand. I have no predictions on this match either because it could go either way, but I'm hoping that the animal can defeat the giant and have his day in the sun!

The third match that has been made for No Mercy is Triple H vs Umaga. Mr. McMahon made this match out of spite because of Triple H's commentary and sarcasm towards Mr. McMahon lately about his illegitimate son Hornswaggle. Triple H has kept me in stitches lately with his commentary towards Mr. McMahon, but apparently Mr. McMahon doesn't find it funny.

Triple H and Umaga have locked eyes before and had some damned good encounters together. Last month when Triple H and Umaga met in the ring it was a bloody battered Umaga that lost that fight to the sledgehammer wielding King of Kings. Umaga definitely has motivation to bring the fire to the Game at No Mercy and Triple H has his reputation to uphold. The King of Kings has had months off due to a leg injury and he's gunning to get back into the full tilt of the game. Nothing can keep him down and he's overcome obstacle after obstacle to be where he is today. He doesn't need to prove that he's the best, he just has to remind us who we're dealing with.

This match is going to be an intense combination of physical force and sheer dominance. Both men are strong and in prime physical condition (Trust me that's not fat on Umaga it's muscle despite what it may look like). It'll be like two bulls running at each other at full tilt to prove which one is more dominant in the yard. Triple H is also known as the "cerebral assassin" because of his ability to get in the heads of his opponents and knowing what they are going to do before they know. He may need to rely on this skill in this match because muscles alone are not going to take down the Samoan Bulldozer. Umaga is coming to this match angry and humiliated due to the attack by Triple H last month. He will not stop until Triple H pays for his transgressions, no matter what it takes. This match by far has my full attention because it's Triple H in the ring. I think the King of Kings is going to prevail, but that Umaga will get in a few good hits of his own to make sure that Triple H realizes he's not the only force in the business to be reckoned with.

As more matches are announced I will update my blog to include my thoughts on them as well. For now it's going to be a very interesting couple of weeks to see what transpires between now and No Mercy!

Wedding Woes on Smackdown!

I was surfing on WWE today to see if there was anything new going on in the world of wrestling. I was saddened to read the story about the tragedy that occurred on Friday night Smackdown during the wedding ceremony of General Manager Theodore Long and his beloved Kristal.

Apparently Mr. Long suffered from a myocardial infraction with cardio myopathy. (what? In English please?) This condition is said to be brought on by hypertension which was worsened by ingesting Viagra. Wow! I missed the episode of Smackdown so I didn't see this live, but the WWE website provides enough news feeds and video clips to fill in all the blanks.

Mr. Long is currently hospitalized and is semi-comatose. They say that his condition is very serious and that the next few days will be critical for him.

My prayers go out to Kristal and the Long family in their time of need and I hope that Mr. Long will make a full recovery. I know that sometimes the general managers of the shows will do anything for ratings but I'm pretty sure that this was not something that was planned to boost the heat of Friday nights.

You can follow this story on WWE for further information. I will try to post news as it comes to me!

The Champ is STILL here!

I figured that since I had gotten my introduction blog out of the way already that I would actually write one that had a bit more context to it now.

Monday night Raw is the show that I predominately watch since it's on at a good time and I love the roster that they have going on the show right now. Everyone has their favorite wrestlers, I have mine divided up by categories. I'll post those at another time. I have to admit thought that recently I've heard mixed emotions about the champ John Cena. That man has been the champ for over a year now? He fights with everything he's got and still they keep coming at him. It's amazing to see the heart and determination that he has for his championship and his reign has been supreme.

Here's the question though, is it time for a new champ? Sure the person that ultimately gets the opportunity at the title will have to earn that right I understand, but are people tired of seeing Cena in the limelight week after week after week. I mean how many more superstars can he mow down before he's out of competition? Well here are my thoughts on the matter:

When John Cena first came onto the WWE scene I can't say that I liked him very much. He was a rapper, a master of thuganomics, bling flashing all over the place at times, it was wild. I wasn't immediately impressed. Over time I watched him wrestle and began to understand that this man had a passion for what he did and he was damned good at it. Soon the appearance changed and became more streamlined for champ material. He won his way into our hearts (have you seen that smile of his)?

Who is going to be good enough to get that title shot and take the title from the revered chain gang leader? Everyone has their hopes, but I say it'll be Triple H. (My favorite wrestler by far). It's not just a biased opinion either, I mean think about it. Triple H has fought his way to the top on multiple occasions and overcome so very difficult obstacles to get where he is today. He's respected among superstars and fans alike and has the ability to do whatever he puts his mind to. I think it's only a matter of time before Hunter starts feeling that itch. Gold will be calling his name soon and the champion blood in his veins will boil with the need for another chance to reign. The king of kings will have to face down Cena eventually, but the question is who will come out with gold? We will all have to wait and see when that time comes.

Either way I am proud to say that I am a John Cena fan because that man has never let down his fans for anything. He's an excellent actor (The Marine was an awesome movie!) and he goes on night after night defending not only his title but his good name amongst superstars. Thank you John Cena for everything you do, we the fan nation love you!

Everything Wrestling!!

Hey Everyone!

This blog spot is going to be all about wrestling. My thoughts and feelings, questions and concerns, shout outs and fan love to the men and women who bust their butts (and other various body parts) to entertain all of the fan nation here at home.

I've been a wrestling fan since I was 5 but I was told that when I was three I watched a wrestling event on television that I don't recall (sorry I was three who can remember that far back?) I have seen careers come and go, get stronger and fall to rubble. I've seen marriages, divorces, break-ups, break outs and more drama than most afternoon soap operas could ever offer. I love watching every week to see what's going to happen next. If anyone else shares my passion, by all means tell me all about it I'd love to hear from you!

Question of the week: Hornswaggle McMahon? Awesome addition or thorn in the side of Daddy Vince?
